A Big Thank You

A big thank you to all who brought your newspaper to support the needy and to champion the green cause. I apologise for not personally acknowledging your contribution. In spirit, thank you for your generosity to the causes and to your classmates.

For this, we would each be awarded one-hour CIP hour...hmm...perhaps we need labour a bit more for that one hour, right? My boys and girls?

Food for Thought - how can we truly contribute to our community...in a meaningful way?

Help the Poor and Save Mother Earth

The school will be organised an OLD NEWSPAPER COLLECTION EXERCISE next week, from 16 to 19 May.

I like everyone to bring at least one copy of old newspaper to support this effort to raise funds to help the poor and at the same time, demonstrate our effort to recycle.

I am confident everyone will participate actively. Students who can bring more than one copy of newspaper, especially those who are driven to school, I do expect you to be able to bring at least 4 - 5 sets of newspaper.

Let's aim to bring at least 30 kg. Team Leaders, Benjamin, Ray, Yue Qun, Genevieve, Claudia, Ayesha, let's see how you exercise your leadership. You will be collecting from your team members.

We can do it! Onward!

Artistic Illustration for Advocacy 101 - No 3

The next Advocacy 101 will focus on how we can enrich our June Holiday. The Reading Committee advocates Self-Designed Self-Improvement Enrichment Programme for the coming June Holiday...through

1. Reading (but of course) of Newspaper and Fiction
2. Visit to Places of Interests for examples the Museum, Pulau Ubin, etc.
3. Pick Up Interesting Art & Craft Activities for example like Scrapbooking
4. Learn a New Skill for example like Baking
5. Vounteer Work for example like at NLB, Science Centre or even at SPCA
6. Spending Time with Loved Ones

I like to invite the artists in 3H to contribute illustrations to be featured in this 3rd Advocacy 101.

I have not decided what the cover should focus on...perhaps a theme around 'This June Holiday I like to...".

The deadline is 16 May...timing is tight, as I need to send in the mastercopy for printing on 16 May itself. So give it a thought, and perhaps as Claudia has suggested you may like to do it as a group...personally I like to include as many illustrations as possible (of course bearing in mind, they have to be of good standard).

Message me if you like to contribute...I really hope you would. Consider, and use the weekend over 14 to 15 May to work out something.

In the meantime, study, study, study, so that you fly your kites high! I really hope you will strive and soar!

Onward!
