In Recent Days...

To my students,

In recent days, I have been feeling down and disappointed.

It started right after the holidays. I sensed some dissonance in the air.

If it is not a young boy who is in a state of denial, then it's a young girl who doesn't believe in currency. Then there are the few who have perhaps issues with the political state of affairs, and have in recent times found good times to form new allegiance and alliance, believing in the game of number play. Then there are the few who live their lives in hidden truths, blinded by fear and timidity, who believe so absolutely no one can really see their veils...and yet another lot who believe they should live their lives in abusive amusement and slashing truths, dinning into the public airways righteously, in hope perhaps to cleanse the injust, the ugly, the rejects, the scum of the earth, phew! phew! phew! we hear...and...of course the few youngful, neglected lot who believe the order of the day is to find favour with endless fantasy and fun.

Yet there is comfort in watching the quiet and discerning ones, who may seem uncertain and unknowing, but whose ways and dispositions speak of generosity, openness and anchorage. What's their anchorage? Perhaps they know who they truly are, accept who they truly are and love who they truly are.

Spend some quiet time on your own in the coming days, alright, young ones?
