5. You heard the Happy Prince through Reader's Theatre
6. You heard Mdm Uuchi's sharing on Adolfo Prieto, Ghandi, Mother Theresa and Oscar Wilde
7. You heard Mdm Uuchi's persuasion for us, as human being to naturally give and love
I enjoyed today's AROOZOO R.E.A.D.S. thoroughly. I believe you share my sentiment. There is so much learning. I thanked Ms Chionh for sharing so generously her life story. Consider the love of your mothers and fathers...sometimes tough love is the way, and the only way our parents know how to love us.
I like to share some of Mdm Uuchi's sharing here with you.
"All the gold in the world has no significance. That which is lasting are the thoughtful acts which we do for our fellow man" - Adolfo Prieto, a Mexican philanthropist in the 19th century.
To be altruistic, it must come from within. It hinges on "what we are made of". And what we are made of has everything to do with how we think, act, and view others and ourselves. In a world filled with so many "bottom lines", it is easy to lose touch with the importance of empathy, respect for others and their differing circumstances.
"We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with Great Love" - Mother Theresa
And from Oscar Wilde (one of my favourite writer - I even named my pet cat, Oscar)
"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring."
Reflect on today's sharing Gessians of 3H
...... as you lead yourself, others and community.
