Travel Declaration and History

A reminder to log into GESS portal to declare any travel intent first and few days later, any travel history.

I suppose most of us would be at home mugging for the upcoming examination. I am marking the Sec 4E5NA Prelim Paper, and at the same time, monitoring my P3-er. I hope you spend good time studying, in the company of your family, if not a good and true friend...someone who wouldn't distract you from doing serious studying!

While I look forward to my marking and coaching camp, I hope you look forward to your self-designed, self-imposed STUDY CAMP!!!

EOY Examination TimeTable and Study Schedule

Please keep your parents updated with regards to EOY Examination Timetable.

Take the upcoming long weekend, followed by two public holidays to start preparing for your examination. You should first start with a study timetable.

Set aside everyday an hour or two to study. Spend more time over the weekend to do intensive revision. In mapping your study schedule, keep some time for your daily homework. Your timetable should include short intervals of reading periods ( perhaps about 15 minutes).

If you start this weekend, you have 4 1/2 weeks left to EOY Examination.

Strive for value-added results! Onward!

June Holiday Homework Pictures and Questions

Those who have yet to e-mail their pictures and questions, which was due like 9 weeks ago, I will allow you to submit by next Wednesday 31 August.

I have been busy and have yet to assess these. You will have another few days to be so. The 3 pictures and questions will be included in your CA2.

Final Deadline is 31 August. I will be logging in during the Sept Holiday to assess these.

As for the readings given during the June Holidays, we will leave them as they are, as the EL Curriculum was changed and modified during the June Holidays. Nevertheless, those who read Shooting an Elephant and A Thousand Years of Good Prayers, will surely agree with me that the stories were thought-provoking and poignant.

Perhaps we can leave the stories to the end of the year, during extended curriculum, to discuss and study.

GESS LOVES READING DAY 25 August 2011

Tomorrow is GESS LOVES READING DAY!

NLB will be bringing in lots of good fiction books. We will go down to the canteen at 8:30am to start borrowing books.

Everyone is expected to borrow at least one book for the Sept Holiday. You will write a book review based on the book you have borrowed.

Tomorrow during assembly, NLB will present a skit based on the book, HOLES by Louis Sachar. It's a great read. Google and find out more about the story.

Jeremy TPI 18 August 2011

Dear Jeremy,

Thank you for sharing more about yourself. I realised from that session that you are indeed a considerate and kind person, besides being smart. I like your cheerfulness and open outlook; you do seem like someone who has inner strength and peace. I believe BB has been a good experience for you, and that you have found good friends and company there. May you strive for all that we had discussed in that session. Remember the foldable item is all you need, and a healthier and closer relationship with your sibling will be a great joy to your parent.

A New Start - a Self-Directed Learner, a Team Player, above all a Charitable Person

Despite the disappointment and what seemed like set-back, the recent days have gotten me thinking quite a bit. Perhaps I have been too lenient, too harsh, too negligent, too complacent, too busy, too tired ...

It's ok, I tell myself. Let's start again.

So my students of 3H, let's start again, a clean slate...let's lift up and live our School Creed, one which will be with and within you for the rest of your life.

This is our school

Let peace dwell here

Let there be contentment

Let love abide here

Love of one another

Love of mankind

Love of life itself

And love of God

Let us remember

That as many hands build a house

So many hearts make a school

By Mr. P.F. Aroozoo

In Recent Days...

To my students,

In recent days, I have been feeling down and disappointed.

It started right after the holidays. I sensed some dissonance in the air.

If it is not a young boy who is in a state of denial, then it's a young girl who doesn't believe in currency. Then there are the few who have perhaps issues with the political state of affairs, and have in recent times found good times to form new allegiance and alliance, believing in the game of number play. Then there are the few who live their lives in hidden truths, blinded by fear and timidity, who believe so absolutely no one can really see their veils...and yet another lot who believe they should live their lives in abusive amusement and slashing truths, dinning into the public airways righteously, in hope perhaps to cleanse the injust, the ugly, the rejects, the scum of the earth, phew! phew! phew! we hear...and...of course the few youngful, neglected lot who believe the order of the day is to find favour with endless fantasy and fun.

Yet there is comfort in watching the quiet and discerning ones, who may seem uncertain and unknowing, but whose ways and dispositions speak of generosity, openness and anchorage. What's their anchorage? Perhaps they know who they truly are, accept who they truly are and love who they truly are.

Spend some quiet time on your own in the coming days, alright, young ones?

Choices - The Gift of Life

This is truly a good time to review the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, as leaders of SELF, OTHERS and COMMUNITY.

As mentioned in our EL lesson earlier, I would like you to read this week's reading article well. The articles on the three women, the article written by Mr David Brooks, Stephen Covey's write-up and of course the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

There will be a written assignment in 2 - 3 weeks time on this. I hope to include this in your CA2.

Thank you,
Mrs Chua

Sheena TPI on 26 July

Thank you Sheena for sharing with me so generously and openly on your life and aspiration. Today I learn that you are indeed a sweet, articulate and giving person. Continue in your good ways and reach for your stars!

Jeremy, Sheena shared that you are a clever and quick-thinking student. Do work together, with your team in building knowledge, understanding and true friendship.

Onward!

Thank you Wilson

I like to thank Wilson for collecting the Edusave Forms and Reply Slips dutifully. He had really provided great assistance to him. Thank you for your quality of work.

Heroians, do learn from Wilson, in his focus, humility and persistence in doing things well.

Great job done!

Grimm Tales 22 July 2011

Dear 3 Heroians,

You would probably agree with me that it was a great night out as a class. I am sure you had enjoyed the performance, as much as I have enjoyed the experience of going out with my form class.

Do reflect on the following questions for next week's lesson on Grimm Tales
1.) What were the high points of the performance?
2.) What did I like about the performance?
3.) Which tale was most memorable? Why so?
4.) What techniques were used in the production to bring across the tales?
5.) Which of these were effective?
6.) What were Grimm Brothers' intentions and messages as conveyed in the stories?

We will conduct as post-performance review on Monday. Also for those who did not hand in their stories as yet, do remember to do so by Monday.

Have a lovely weekend with your family,
Mrs Linda Chua

P.S. Constance says 'thank you' to all of you for being so nice to her. She likes my students : )

Develop Intelligence through Habits of Mind

Yes intelligence can be developed, so says research.

In the coming months, I hope to introduce to you 16 habits of thinking and being of intelligent people. If you like you may 'google' this to find out more - Habits of Mind. It's research-based and well-established in many parts of the world. I will print a set of notes for you to read. In the meantime, here's the 16 Habits of Mind :

1.) Persisting
2.) Managing Impulsivity
3.) Listening with Understanding and Empathy
4.) Thinking Flexibly
5.) Thinking about Thinking (Metacognition)
6.) Striving for Accuracy
7.) Questioning and Posing Problems
8.) Applying Past Knowledge to New Situations
9.) Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision
10.) Gathering Data through All Senses
11.) Creating, Imagining, Innovating
12.) Responding with Wonderment and Awe
13.) Taking Responsible Risks
14.) Finding Humour
15.) Thinking Interdependently
16.) Remaining Open to Continuous Learning

Which of these do you need to focus on?

This week we started with Persisting (having persistence). Kudos to those nominated by their classmates to have qualities of Persistence : Irfan, Jeremy, Amelia, Khin, Shafie, Wilson, Jing Yong and Eunice.

Let's focus on Striving for Accuracy and Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision  in tomorrow's EL lesson.

You can be intelligent, if you persist and develop the Habits of Mind!

Yes you can : ) the choice is yours.

CCE - Wednesday 9:25 to 10:35am

CCE this week will be conducted on Wednesday's double period.

You are to bring your CCE pack. There is an assessment component in this week's lesson.

3H Goes to the Theatre 22 July - Pre-Performance Lesson

Dear 3 Heroians,

This Thursday, we will be conducting a pre-performance lesson. I would like you to visit some of the following websites to read up and find out more on Grimm Brothers and their Tales, if you are not already familiar with them.

The websites are
http://www.nationalgeographic.com/grimm/
http://www.thegrimmtales.com/
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~spok/grimmtmp/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grimm's_Fairy_Tales

The Tales that I like you to be familiar with are
1.) The Musicians of Bremen,
2.) Ashputtel (Cinderella)
3.) The Mouse
4.) the Bird and the Sausage
5.) The Golden Goose
6.) The Hare and the Hedgehog
7.) Hansel and Gretel and the Magic Table
8.) the Gold-Donkey and the Cudgel in the Sack
(most of us are familiar with no. 2 Cinderella, as such there is no real necessity to read it)

This Thursday, 21 July, come to class with one of the above tales. Discuss among your group members, who is to bring which tale to class. We will be 'doing' some storytelling!

Yes, storytelling on Thursday, the 3H's way, before you watch SRT's The Young Co.'s way of doing it (by the way, the performance is put up by young people, people of your age group).

This will better prepare you to appreciate and critique the performance.

Hong Kong and Japan - Perspective and Context

Today, I shared some aspects of my experience while in HK and Japan during the June Holidays. I didn't share on observation of Macau...another day perhaps.

Perhaps Si Lin is right ( I know that he thought I was not fair in my comments). I was quite aware of the 'biased' point of view with regards to the remarks I made about the people I met in HK and perhaps in Japan. The point of the sharing was to highlight how our rude disposition and 'I-am-not-happy-with-you' attitude can be a real turn-off......in any country, any community and any home.

In all fairness, HK is not that 'unpleasant'...it was probably the noisy and busy area that I was staying that I really didn't like. I had a lecturer from HK when I was at NUS, and he left a very good impression on me. He gave me the impression that most HK people were independent, intelligent and hardworking. Also while in HK, I was rather impressed with their environment-green policy, immigration officers and police officers, who were highly alert at the airport. One even stopped me to ask why I was carrying empty cupboards. Needless to say, food was great and at a bargain. Japan, though its products and places are pleasing to the eyes, ears and heart...is really incomprehensible, since little English is used. And quite honestly, behind the smiles and politeness, you aren't too sure how they really think of you, or foreigners in general(this didn't really bother me since I was there for a few days). Still, Japan, is really wonderful, if not for any other reason, other than the cool weather. You feel like you are in an air-conditioned room 24/7.

Well, just to share, to put things into perspective. Again, HK, as a tourist destination, not for me - as a teacher in the Singapore International School or to further one's study...... I am game.

Stories.People.Life. - The Lady or the Tiger

I really liked today's presentation by the members of the Drama Club.

Do ponder on this question " If you were the princess, what would you have done?" Would you have chosen the Lady or the Tiger? Truly an interesting examination of human nature.

May I recommend you to read William Golding's 'Lord of the Flies' which explores this theme of human nature at length - what are we truly like? What are we capable of?

I encourage you to google the links given in the story given today, to find more of such stories and at the same time, explore, examine and question nature of our being (human nature) especially in the context of the theme we are exploring in EL classes - the theme of Conflict and War.

Read on!

TP1 Semester 2

Dear Heroians,

As mentioned at the beginning of this term, I will be meeting you individually during TPI. I will be using the reflection journal 'What I Want Out of Life' (written in Term 2) as a springboard in our talk. I have read through them and hope for you to share a little more about yourself. Do ponder over the following questions:
1. What do you value most in life?
2. How close are you with your family?
3. Who are your good friends?
4. What are your aspirations? (a re-visitation)

I do hope we manage to see everyone by the end of the year. At one point I will perhaps see two at a time...if you are no too comfortable, let me know ok?

Do spend quality time with your family over this weekend.

Nigel and Jonathan

I am heartened to find Nigel's and Jonathan's TYS Passage B in my locker.

This is initiative and self-directed behaviour. Good Work!

101 Things For Teens By Teens [ Community Involvement Project ]

Dear 3H-eeroians,

I have found an interesting Community Involvement Programme for some, if not most of you.

I want to encourage all of you to participate in this Event Project - 101 Things For Teens By Teens. The details is outlined below in the letter by Ms Kang, the Librarian from NLB Bukit Merah Branch. The deadline is 20 June, but I will ask the Librarian if the deadline can be extended to the end of 1st week of school. I know there will be some of you who will not be inclined to participate in such activities: video-production and workshop facilitation. As such not to worry, there will be opportunities for some of you, who will be creating and maintaining a BookCross@ GESS blog for our school. This, I will elaborate more when I see you when school reopens.

So do consider how you can participate in 101 Things For Teens By Teens, either to produce a video or conduct a workshop. Attendance on 27 June is not compulsory, especially if you know how to produce a video. In any case, you have lessons on that day.

At the same time, I need to highlight to you that there has been some changes to the theme for the video I intended for you to work on (as mentioned in my earlier posts)...this is completely a different video production..a more serious and academic type of video. Let's see if this video production is possible after all...it was meant to help you think and reflect better.

Videos, videos, videos...for our social media-savvy Heeroians : )
P.S. The holiday reading still stays...you need to really read them. There's an after-reading project as well.

Here's Ms Kang's letter on 101 Things For Teens By Teens...

101 Things For Teens By Teens:
A Teen Program by National Library Board (NLB)

As part of our wider efforts to engage teens and make learning fun and challenging, NLB is holding its annual Teen Signature Program in November 2011.  Through this program, we hope that the teens will gain new knowledge, and also have a higher sense of empowerment.

This year’s Teen Signature Program aims to showcase teens’ creativity and forte. Through the program, teens get to lead and learn from other teens. They will teach other teens different skills such as learning how to use Photoshop, hip hop dance, or scrapbooking. Selected works will be featured on our Y.O! blog, Facebook and YouTube.

This is a great opportunity for the teens to display their capabilities and leadership skills. At the same time, they get to pick up a new skill when they sign up for other activities taught by other teens. With the multitude of talents around, we would like to invite your good school to participate in this program. The different CCA clubs in your schools could take part in this program, such as the Library Club, Media Resource Club, Guitar Club, Modern Dance Society, Chess Club, and Judo Club etc.

This is no limit to the number of teams that each school can send in to participate in the program. Students can choose to participate either by submitting a YouTube video OR conduct a workshop in person. As an added incentive, we are giving away $1,500 worth of prizes for video entries!
*For information on the mechanics of the program, please refer to the contest form.

The program has three components:
(a)                           Briefing
(i)      Teams who are intending to submit videos will need to attend a briefing on 27 June 2011 at Central Public Library, Multipurpose Room from 3-5pm   OR
(ii)    Teams who are intending to conduct a workshop will need to attend a briefing on either one of the three dates below:

24 August 2011: Woodlands Regional Library, Auditorium,
25 August 2011: Tampines Regional Library, Auditorium,
26 August 2011: Jurong Regional Library, VAT,

(b)                           Rehearsal for selected teams
All selected teams will need to attend a rehearsal for the main event on 1st November at Tampines Regional Library from .

(c )      Main Event
This will be held on 12 November at various libraries.

Important things to note:
1) The students are required to commit to all the above mentioned dates.
2) The students will also be allocated double CIP hours for their participation, and the school and students will be awarded a certificate of participation.
3) A maximum of 4 students per team.
4) Please visit our website: http://blogs.nlb.gov.sg/yo/101-things-for-teens-by-teens/ for more information.

We seek your participation and we are confident that your students will have an exciting time during the program.

Please indicate your participation by 20 June 2011 by sending the attached form to us.

Thank you.

English Language Holiday Homework

Dear 3H-eers,

In the midst of all the holiday fun and merriment, do remember to put in quality time and effort on your holiday homework.

Do remember the following Holiday Homework

1. read 'A Thousand Years of Prayers' by Li Yiyun
2. read 'Shooting An Elephant' by George Orwell
3. read a Straits Times interview with MM Lee
4. read a Straits Times news report on MM Lee and SM Goh stepping down from Cabinet
5. take 3 photographs based on the given themes especially one on 'Transition' and 'Majulah...The Singapore Spirit'.

6. think about our Community Involvement Project - either a film or photo videos based on the theme 'Transition'.

With regards to no. 6, as suggested by Claudia, I am putting up a photo video done by other students of another school, that may help communicate my idea of our CIP for our class. Also visit http://www.civiclife.sg/competition.html to view some very interesting videos under the Where the Heart Is Video Competition. View 'Corridor'...simple yet so impactful.

I hope our videos can be showcased during one assembly programme, hopefully this year. Take a look at the video and let's discuss when school reopens.

View the videos, read the readings, and think and reflect on Singapore, as a Nation and People in Transition.

May your holiday be fulfilling and enriching!

A Big Thank You

A big thank you to all who brought your newspaper to support the needy and to champion the green cause. I apologise for not personally acknowledging your contribution. In spirit, thank you for your generosity to the causes and to your classmates.

For this, we would each be awarded one-hour CIP hour...hmm...perhaps we need labour a bit more for that one hour, right? My boys and girls?

Food for Thought - how can we truly contribute to our community...in a meaningful way?

Help the Poor and Save Mother Earth

The school will be organised an OLD NEWSPAPER COLLECTION EXERCISE next week, from 16 to 19 May.

I like everyone to bring at least one copy of old newspaper to support this effort to raise funds to help the poor and at the same time, demonstrate our effort to recycle.

I am confident everyone will participate actively. Students who can bring more than one copy of newspaper, especially those who are driven to school, I do expect you to be able to bring at least 4 - 5 sets of newspaper.

Let's aim to bring at least 30 kg. Team Leaders, Benjamin, Ray, Yue Qun, Genevieve, Claudia, Ayesha, let's see how you exercise your leadership. You will be collecting from your team members.

We can do it! Onward!

Artistic Illustration for Advocacy 101 - No 3

The next Advocacy 101 will focus on how we can enrich our June Holiday. The Reading Committee advocates Self-Designed Self-Improvement Enrichment Programme for the coming June Holiday...through

1. Reading (but of course) of Newspaper and Fiction
2. Visit to Places of Interests for examples the Museum, Pulau Ubin, etc.
3. Pick Up Interesting Art & Craft Activities for example like Scrapbooking
4. Learn a New Skill for example like Baking
5. Vounteer Work for example like at NLB, Science Centre or even at SPCA
6. Spending Time with Loved Ones

I like to invite the artists in 3H to contribute illustrations to be featured in this 3rd Advocacy 101.

I have not decided what the cover should focus on...perhaps a theme around 'This June Holiday I like to...".

The deadline is 16 May...timing is tight, as I need to send in the mastercopy for printing on 16 May itself. So give it a thought, and perhaps as Claudia has suggested you may like to do it as a group...personally I like to include as many illustrations as possible (of course bearing in mind, they have to be of good standard).

Message me if you like to contribute...I really hope you would. Consider, and use the weekend over 14 to 15 May to work out something.

In the meantime, study, study, study, so that you fly your kites high! I really hope you will strive and soar!

Onward!

AROOZOO R.E.A.D.S.@ ARENA . Stories . People . Life .

20 April 2011
Stories . People . Life.

Let me recap this morning's programme.
1. You heard Mrs Tee's explanation of the concept of Altruism - Selflessness
2. You read the Giving Tree
3. You heard Ms Chionh share her personal story
4. You heard Ms Chionh reflect on her life story and her mother's gift to her
5. You heard the Happy Prince through Reader's Theatre
6. You heard Mdm Uuchi's sharing on Adolfo Prieto, Ghandi, Mother Theresa and Oscar Wilde
7. You heard Mdm Uuchi's persuasion for us, as human being to naturally give and love

I enjoyed today's AROOZOO R.E.A.D.S. thoroughly. I believe you share my sentiment. There is so much learning. I thanked Ms Chionh for sharing so generously her life story. Consider the love of your mothers and fathers...sometimes tough love is the way, and the only way our parents know how to love us.

I like to share some of Mdm Uuchi's sharing here with you.

"All the gold in the world has no significance. That which is lasting are the thoughtful acts which we do for our fellow man" - Adolfo Prieto, a Mexican philanthropist in the 19th century.

To be altruistic, it must come from within. It hinges on "what we are made of". And what we are made of has everything to do with how we think, act, and view others and ourselves. In a world filled with so many "bottom lines", it is easy to lose touch with the importance of empathy, respect for others and their differing circumstances.

"We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with Great Love" - Mother Theresa

And from Oscar Wilde (one of my favourite writer - I even named my pet cat, Oscar)
"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring."

Reflect on today's sharing Gessians of 3H
...... as you lead yourself, others and community.

The Reading and Learning Library Programme

To orientate you to the different segments of the programme, let me list the four segments here -

1. AskDewey!
- where you learn more about the different subjects you are studying. The aim is to stir your curosity and encourage you to research and read on on your own.

2. Stories . People . Life .
- where you read (listen and watch) stories, poems or drama about stories of people. The aim is to encourage you to explore the intrigues of life in a sometimes imaginative, creative or thought-provoking manner.

3. Advocacy 101
- where you find out the current affairs and real-life issues of the day. The aim is to challenge you to consider your role and responsibilities in these issues.

4. GESS, Community & Heritage
- where you learn more about your personal, social and cultural identity as a Gessian and citizen of Singapore. The aim is to awaken the unique 'YOU' as you discover more about yourself against the backdrop of your family, school, community, Singapore and the World.

Savour every reading moment...reflect, explore, analyse and discover the World and yourself.

The HEART Matter of Leadership

Dear students of 3H,

Leadership has its root in the HEART.

Listen to your heartbeat, know its rhythm and movement. Find a quiet time in your busy day, to listen to its whispering.

Let your MIND (intellect) guide your HEART to beat in a peaceful and secure rhythm.

Let's work towards a healthy, purposeful and joyful pulse rate.

Food for Thought : )

Nigel Ng

Thak you Nigel for volunteering to collect the contact lists. I trust that you will handle the 'private' information with integrity and care.

Kindly submit all contact lists you have collected for today during TPI. You can continue with the collection tomorrow.

Kindly arrange all contact lists according to index no. All students, please take note of this administrative requirement - that all documents and forms are to be arranged according to index no.

Thank you with appreciation.
Mrs Linda Chua

Mid-Year Examination Acknowledgement Slips

Please hand in your Mid-Year Examination Acknowledgement Slips, signed by your parents, to Vice-Chairman (Academic), Ray Lim latest Thursday 1:30pm.

I understand some of you have lost the letters and acknowledgement slips. Leaders of the Exco Committee, please take note of this recurring problem. Your task is to problem-solve this often and 'irritating' problem.

As a class, this issue must be resolved. Consider which habit is not in place?

As your Form Teacher, my stand is that if you have lost the letters or acknowledgement slips (or for that matters, any other document or resources) the onus is on you to find ways to get another copy. You are not to approach your teachers, especially if the loss is due to your lack of attention and care in organising your personal posssessions.

In this case, please produce an official letter (A4 size) from your parents to acknowledge that you have received the MYE Timetable, MYE Letter and Acknowledgement Slips. I have the namelist of your signatures, acknowledging the receipt the above mentioned documents.

Please exercise great level of responsibility and maturity in such matters.

Vice-Chairman (Academic), Ray, please follow up on this matter.

Seven Habits of Effective Students

Here's the Seven Habits of Effective Students
1. Be Proactive
2. Begin with the End in Mind
3. Put First Things First
4. Think Win-Win
5. Seek First to Understand, Then be Understood
6. Synergy
7. Sharpen the Saw

I am sure if you google 'Seven Habits of Effective Students', you'll find plenty of reading materials. You may not have the time in the next few weeks. Perhaps set this goal for yourself - during the June Holiday, design a Self-Improvement Programme to better yourself in the following aspects,
1. How I can be a leader of myself, others and community? Remember to start with yourself  : )
2. How to improve on my study skills to better my academic performance in my scholastic pursuit?
3. How to build good and healthy relationship with my family and friends?

I know Benjamin, Yue Qun, Eng Heng , Wilson, Jia Yi and Jia Qi are likely to heel my recommendation. How about the rest of you? Let my know if you are going to work on this. I will post strategies and approaches you can read up on.

Yours truly,
Mrs Chua

19 April 1:30pm TPI Target Setting

4. Si Lin

Thank you to the eleven of you for being patient. Please come ready to discuss what's your personal academic targets and if the Silver Targets are within your reach at the MYE. We will also be discussing which subjects you may have issues with and how we can resolve them.

Come ready to discuss which habit you need to work on for the months to come. I will post later the seven habits of effective students for those, who need a revision since the Exco Committee presented.

I have great faith in the eleven of you. From my observation, you take your work seriously and do them with pride. I will see you tomorrow.

Onward!

Yours in Truth and Love,

16 April 2011

Welcome to all students of Sec 3H! This is the blog that will help us move forward as leaders of self, others and community, honouring life and hope.

We started the year with "Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it" by Sir Winston Churchhill. It is timely that Mdm Sarifah shared the story of the carrot, egg and coffee bean. The story resonates with what I truly believe ; it is in the way how we overcome adversity (challenges) in our lives that shape and mark our character and build our resilience.

The temperature of your classroom will be inceased in the days to come...let's see who can withstand the heat and remain cool. Not 'maksa maksa' cool but truly cool, cool.

Onward!

Mrs Linda Chua
